What is a liquid facelift?
A liquid facelift is a non-surgical procedure that uses dermal fillers to ‘lift’ the face. With age, skin starts to lose its natural laxity and volume. The most popular filler for this type of treatment is Hyaluronic Acid — a synthetic product that mimics a naturally occurring body substance to fill in lines and sunken areas, providing an overall subtle lift.
The goal of a liquid facelift is to:
- plump up lips
- reduce under-eye hollows
- add contour to cheeks
- tighten wrinkles around your lips, eyes, and forehead
The ideal candidate for a liquid facelift is someone with few wrinkles and a small amount of sagging. This is not an ideal treatment for those looking for dramatic results such as those of a surgical facelift.
Liquid facelift is a medical procedure which should only be administered by a medical provider well versed in facial anatomy and injections. At MarSha MedSpa, this procedure is only conducted by a Medical Doctor or Nurse Practitioner Your medical history will be thoroughly analyzed by provider prior to procedure.
Preparing for a liquid facelift
A liquid facelift requires very little preparation. Ideally, you should not have any of the following on the day of the procedure:
- facial makeup
- a skin infection or wound on the parts of your face that will be injected
You should also avoid having any of the following in the two days before the procedure, as they can increase bruising:
- nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen and naproxen
Be sure to get plenty of rest the night before and arrive to the appointment at least a few minutes early. This will help you feel relaxed and prepared for the procedure.
