Preparation
- Share allergies, bleeding risks, medicines and previous filler.
- Mention cold sores, recent illness and planned dental or skin procedures.
- Do not stop prescribed medicines without your prescriber’s advice.
Aftercare
- Limit strenuous activity, sun and heat for about 24 hours and until swelling settles.
- Follow area-specific instructions, including hand activity after hand treatment.
- Avoid massage unless directed; tell imaging staff you have Radiesse before scans.
Side effects
- Bruising, swelling, tenderness, itching or lumps can occur; hands may feel stiff.
- Rare vessel blockage can cause skin injury, blindness or stroke.
- Get immediate medical help for vision changes, unusual pain, pale or dusky skin, or stroke symptoms.

Radiesse contains CaHA microspheres in a gel for initial volume support and collagen stimulation. Sculptra uses PLLA for gradual collagen support. HA fillers have different uses and can sometimes be treated with hyaluronidase; Radiesse cannot be dissolved that way.
Initial volume may be visible immediately, although swelling affects the early appearance. Results may last a year or longer for some people; duration depends on the area, product and your response. Collagen stimulation does not make the result permanent.
Radiesse has a US indication for volume loss on the backs of the hands. Safety and effectiveness in the lips or around the eyes have not been established. Hand filler adds volume to soften the visibility of veins and tendons; it does not treat a vein disorder.
MarSha offers diluted Radiesse for selected upper-chest/décolleté concerns. Your provider assesses the product, dilution, area and risks; other body uses have different evidence and regulatory status.
Lumps, nodules, delayed inflammation or changes outside the intended area can occur. Radiesse cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Contact your provider about persistent or new changes. Unusual pain, skin color changes, vision changes or stroke symptoms require immediate medical help.
