MicroNeedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that’s used to treat skin concerns by stimulating collagen production. Also known as collagen induction therapy, this treatment creates micro-punctures in the skin using miniature, sterilized needles.
SkinPen is the first FDA approved microneedling device. It uses ‘collagen induction therapy’ to treat melasma – also known as skin discoloration – as well as acne and surgical scars. With as little as three non-invasive and affordable treatments spaced 30 days apart, clients can experience noticeable improvement in the appearance of their skin.
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. This is a high concentration of protein derived from blood. It is often referred to as ‘Liquid Gold’ in skin treatments. To derive PRP, blood sample is taken from the patient and placed in a tube. This tube is then spun in a centrifuge, where natural separation of growth factors and stem cells from red blood cells occurs.
