PRP microneedling

Acne scars, wrinkles, and sun damage can make you feel trapped in your skin. But you don’t have to settle for that anymore. PRP microneedling offers a real solution it harnesses your body’s natural processes to improve the appearance of scars, reduce signs of aging, and give you a healthy, youthful glow.

This treatment uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a powerful concentration of proteins derived from your own blood. Platelets increase collagen and elastin production, helping your skin function at its best while delivering antioxidant and hydrating properties.

PRP microneedling enhances your skin’s natural renewal ability, helping it gradually reveal fresher, younger-looking skin.

Ideal Candidate for PRP Microneedling

This treatment is most effective for individuals who want to reduce scars, improve skin texture, and reduce signs of aging. But, you may not be an ideal candidate if:

  • You’re pregnant or breastfeeding
  •  You have an active skin infection (e.g., herpes)
  • You have conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea
  •  You had major surgery within the last six months
  • You have a history of platelet or blood disorders
  • You’ve active acne or are using  isotretinoin to treat acne

If any of these conditions apply, please consult with your medical provider at MarSha to determine if microneedling with PRP is the right treatment for your skin.

What to Expect with the Treatment

  • Sessions can last up to 30-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
  • After the procedure, your skin might feel slightly tender or flushed, similar to a normal sunburn, which usually subsides within 24-48 hours
  • Over the next few days, your skin may peel as the healing process continues, revealing fresh, new skin underneath.

The results of the PRP Microneedling Procedure take 2-3 months to show as collagen continues to rebuild. With proper skincare maintenance, the results can last up to two years.

Why you should get Microneedling PRP:

How does PRP microneedling treat your skin?

Preparation process

To derive PRP, a blood sample is taken from the patient and placed in a specialized tube. The tube is then spun in a centrifuge, which separates the different components of the blood. Through this process, the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is isolated, containing essential growth factors and stem cells that boost the skin’s natural healing abilities.

Minimize Large Pores

During microneedling, the PRP is applied to allow the growth factors and healing proteins to deeply penetrate your skin, enhancing the rejuvenation process.

Using an FDA-approved skin pen, we create tiny micro-injuries on your skin’s surface. These micro-injuries activate your body’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production. The result is firmer, more resilient skin with fewer wrinkles and fine lines.

Skin regeneration

To derive PRP, a blood sample is taken from the patient and placed in a specialized tube. The tube is then spun in a centrifuge, which separates the different components of the blood. Through this process, the platelet-rich plasma is concentrated with essential growth factors that support the skin’s natural recovery functions.

Results and duration:

Microneedling with PRP has shown beneficial results in tightening and improving the texture of skin on the face, neck, decolletage, and hands.

Results can take upto  2-3 months to fully reflect and last for up to 2 years.

Note: At MarSha MedSpa, we only use SkinPen, the first FDA-approved microneedling device, during this procedure.

PRP Microneedling Recovery and Aftercare

  • Minimal downtime –  return to your normal activities within a day or two.
  • Use a gentle, hydrating cleanser.
  • Avoid harsh skincare products or treatments for 5-7 days.
  • Apply sunscreen daily to protect your skin.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least a week.

PRP Microneedling Recovery and Aftercare

At MarSha MedSpa, we also offer an advanced version of microneedling with exosomes, the messaging centers of cells responsible for tissue repair and regeneration. Exosomes communicate directly with your skin cells, telling them to increase collagen production and accelerate healing.

During your treatment, exosomes are extracted and added to a special growth-activating serum, which is then inserted into a special microneedling device and injected into the deeper layers of your skin. Over time and with enough treatments, your skin will look smoother, healthier, and more radiant.

The process takes the same amount of time as a standard microneedling treatment—about 15-30 minutes—and results in smoother, dewy skin that appears healthier and feels firmer with minimal downtime. To see results, you may need about three microneedling treatments with exosomes, spaced about four to six weeks apart.
